Text Box: April 2010 AHOY And welcome to the Blue Valley Yacht Club (BVYC). This handbook has been prepared to provide both new and old members with information about the Club. We encourage all members to become familiar with this booklet, participate in the Club events, and follow the rules, customs, and traditions established to benefit the members. It has been said that BVYC is not a facility or place; rather it is a group of quality people getting together to enjoy the great sport of sailing. Members should have high expectations of the Club, but members also incur several obligations. The Club expects that all members will work together to make BVYC a better place to sail. To this end, we hope that all members will do their share, show common sense and courtesy, and participate in the Club workdays. We also ask that you inform any board members when you see something wrong, see something that needs repair, or have an idea that may better the Club. Here's hope for smooth sailing.
