REGULAR BOARD MEETING

to Order: Meeting called to order at 7:08 by Diane Barker
Bob Mullen moved that the
minutes of the January 5 meeting be approved with no corrections, Randy Zelenka
seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously.
REPORTS:
Vice Commodore:
Ken Hays reported that the roof had been put back on the old shelter during the January 11 work day.
Rear Commodore:
Absent
Social Director:
Bob Mullen announced that breakfast will be served at the work day on 3 April. He is currently working on the format for the Spring Banquet - - may be a shipwreck party.
Treasurer:
Tom Albright distributed a written treasurer’s report. It was noted by all that there had been a good response to the early membership offer.
Secretary:

Bartholomew reported on several items:
1. The Club web site has been moved to a new Internet Service Provider.
2. He had sent an article to The
Manhattan Mercury with information about the Fall Banquet and Annual
Meeting. Bart suggested that we send
articles with race results.
3. Bart reported that he had had numerous
positive comments about the January newsletter.
Race Director:
Randy Zelenka presented a printed copy of the race schedule for the year.
OLD
BUSINESS:
Range Lights for Harbor:
No action was taken; topic will be re-visited
CSSA Membership:
Bob Mullen reported that he had renewed our membership.
Disposal of old work
barge:
Bob Mullen will check with Gene Lindgren to determine is he still wants the barge for his personal use.
Scott Liebler Memorial
Race:
The calendar as published was incorrect; the actual date for the race is May 29.
Women’s Sailing
Seminar:
Diane reported that she has been working with Jack Hayes and Jane Thompson to design the seminar; it will probably be limited to 18 people; will start in June and run for 6 sessions; will most likely be taught by Club volunteers.
Kansas Sea Base:
The dates will be August 6, 7 and 8.
Laminator:
Secretary Bart said he does not need the laminator as had previously been approved; it was agreed by all that a laminator would not be purchased.
NEW
BUSINESS:
Jobs for Spring Work Day:
Work on docks
Reinforce the roof on the old shelter
Repair moorings (Wayne Martin, Bob Mullen and one other person)
Paint new shelter
Replace cable on mast lift
Train people to drive the Ford tractor (Bart Bartholomew)
Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at about 8:30 p.m. with a motion by Bob
Mullen and second by Tom Albright; next meeting will be on March 1.
