REPORTS:
VICE COMMODORE: Ken reported on the following items:
· New keys have been made and distributed to the appropriate parties.
· Mowing has been started.
· The Green lawn tractor is operational and ready for use.
· Gutters should be installed on the shelter this week.
· The locks have been reset with the new combination (9163).
· An estimate for the cost of the expanded fence for the dinghy park will be available soon. There was subsequent discussion on this topic under old business.
REAR COMMODORE: Wayne distributed a written report detailing the progress on checking moorings. An example of the database detailing mooring status was also distributed as was the updated mooring assignments. The electric winch donated by Bart worked well for small weights but came up short on the larger moorings. The report mentioned that after checking a few more moorings a new stronger 12 volt winch might be requisitioned. It was suggested that since the club has an adequate amount of money the winch be ordered immediately. An estimate of approximately $570 was given by Wayne for the 3700lb. Warn winch, 1200 CCA deep cycle battery and miscellaneous hardware. Tom motioned, Randy seconded that the purchase be approved. Motion carried unanimously. Wayne thought that the actual price would be considerably less since $100 had been set aside for hardware but the job might be accomplished for about $10 in hardware.
It was recommended that the boat
size ratings assigned to each mooring be noted as an addendum on the database,
which Wayne agreed to do.
TREASURER: Tom distributed a written report detailing the financial status of the club. Bob noted that the trash had not been collected in April. Tom had already paid for the service and will contact the company to work out an arrangement for May service.
RACE DIRECTOR: Randy reported that the first two races had been cancelled due to high winds and hoped that subsequent races would proceed as scheduled.
COMMODORE: Diane mentioned that she had sent out e-mails announcing the upcoming women’s sailing seminar June 19th & 20th. She will follow up with interested parties.
