Meeting called to order at 7:38 p.m. by Diane Barker
Minutes of the Ned Gatewood moved and Bob Mullen

REPORTS:
VICE COMMODORE: Ken Hays reported that Bob Mullen had
received a Wear Your Life Jacket sign from the Corps of Engineers; a location for its installation will be
decided on work day.
REAR COMMODORE: No report
TREASURER: Tom distributed a written report detailing the
financial status of the club.
SECRETARY: No Report
RACE DIRECTOR: Bob Mullen reported that he had sent a
proposed race schedule to board members via email. Bob highlighted that the schedule included some Wednesday evening
races and several dinghy races. Bob
also will revert to the policy of requiring at least 5 boats to be registered
or else the race will be cancelled.
Interested racers must call or send an email message the night before
the race.
COMMODORE: No report
SOCIAL DIRECTOR:
Ned
Gatewood informed the Board that he would like to schedule several socials in
addition to the Spring and Fall Banquets.
Ned is currently exploring possible locations for the spring
banquet. Bart Bartholomew agreed to
ask Jon Held to be the guest speaker at the spring banquet.
OLD BUSINESS:
Liability insurance: The
board discussed the fact that the general liability insurance policy from
Myers, Briggs, Inc. did not specifically protect board members. Ned and Diane agreed to check with insurers
to research the availability and cost of
liability insurance for board members.
Repair of dinghy dock: It
was noted that floats have been purchased; construction will hopefully be begun
at the work day and then completed at a separate dock building session.
Repair of committee boat: Bob Mullen reported that we are still awaiting an estimate of the
cost to repair it. After much
discussion, Ned Gatewood moved that we
get a firm estimate for the cost of repair; if less than $200 then the repairs
should be made. Wayne Martin amended
the motion to change the amount to be $300.
The motion was approved unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Members Handbook:
The consensus was that we
should update and distribute the handbook this year. Bart shall make proposed changes and send out a draft via email
for board review and/or editing.
Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 8:24 p.m.
