NEW BUSINESS:
The BOD discussed methods to make new members welcome and to know more about sailing on Tuttle Creek Lake. After discussion the BOD agreed on the following:
1. The commodore should send a letter of welcome to each new member.
2. Each new member should be assigned to a current member who will become a buddy sailor. The buddy sailor will point out the general characteristics, obstacles, depths and weather patterns of the lake, explain club policies and if possible go on a buddy sail with the new member.
3. Consider having a picture of the new member along with a few words in the club newsletter.
4. Ensure that a handbook is made available.
5. Introduce the new member at club events.
Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at about 7:55 p.m.; next meeting will be on
June 6 at Bart Bartholomew’s home.
