Secretary’s Message

I have enjoyed serving as secretary to the club over the last two years. It has been a pleasure to meet so many people who share a love of sailing and the outdoors. If I can be of assistance in the near future, please do not hesitate to contact me at tbk296@aol.com.

Upcoming Events

The 2002 BVYC Annual Fall Banquet, November 1, 2002

Ned has sent out information via e-mail to all members requesting their reservations by October 28. Please contact Ned at gatewd@ksu.edu. The Blue Valley Yacht Club invites you to the 2002 Annual Fall Banquet, Friday,  November 1 at 6:00 pm in the Bluemont Room at the Kansas State University Student Union.

This event celebrates the conclusion of the 2002 sailing season with a gathering of friends, the awarding of trophies for this year's racing series, a brief business meeting, and an interesting presentation.

The evening's presentation will be by Keenan Roach, a KSU graduate student in mechanical engineering and member of the KSU Sailing Club.  Keenan, at the age of 13, sailed across the Atlantic with his family and they then sailed extensively throughout Europe.  Keenan has prepared a slide presentation for us of his sailing adventure.

The cost of the dinner is $13.00 per person, payable the night of the banquet.  Please make your reservations no later than Monday, October 28 with Ned Gatewood at ngatewd@ksu.edu or, 539-8804.

I wish to extend the club’s gratitude to Ned for all his hard work over the last year in organizing such wonderful events as the Pig Roast and Fall Banquet.
