2003 Race Reports Due to weather and lake conditions the 2003 sailing season has gotten off to a slow start. To date only three of the seven scheduled races have taken place. The schedule below shows the race dates for the remainder of the season. A quick examination of the schedule shows that there are still five races listed that do not have a committee person. Please consider supporting the race program by volunteering to serve as the committee for one of the races. Race #1, May 24 Conrow wins again....
Seven boats started this annual long distance race held on Saturday, May 24th. Winds were pleasant at the start of the race as Henry Otto in the Star and Ken Conrow in the Laser flew to a commanding lead. Within 15 minutes all racers were mired in a prolonged dead calm causing one boat to quit the race. Those who "hung in there" were surprised to find the winds building to a strength (Continued on page 3) |
