Spring Workday Scheduled The BVYC Board of Directors is unanimously optimistic that the lake is coming up and we truly will have a sailing season. Therefore, we have planned an ambitious Spring Workday to get the grounds in ship shape. We need a big crew and expect to have something important for everyone to do. Date: Saturday April 5 (If the weather doesn't cooperate: Saturday April 12) Time: 8:30 to 12:30 Lunch will be provided The following are our major goals: Pouring the concrete floor for the new shelter: We expect to have the forms in place so we can place and finish the concrete. If you have any appropriate tools please bring them, and if you plan to help, dress accordingly. Note: Please don't park your vehicle where it might obstruct access by the concrete truck. Relocation of the porta-potty and trash cans: The toilet including its concrete slab, will be moved up between the first two sheds where it will be more protected from the wind and less conspicuous. The trash and recycling cans will be moved to the South East corner. The main task will be to construct a new enclosure. would like to accomplish is to sort out the trash pile ("bone pile") that is west of the dinghy park. The goal is to make one pile of the stuff that should be hauled to the dump and one pile (preferably organized) of the good stuff. Unless we get some spectacular growing conditions in the next three weeks, there doesn't appear to be much need for mowing except for using a string trimmer in the dinghy park under the boats. If you have a reliable string trimmer that you're willing to bring, please do. If you have any questions or suggestions, please call me at 537-0624 or email to: tmanney@ksu.edu |
