The Blue Valley Yacht Club (BVYC) held its Fall Banquet and Annual Meeting on November 15 at 6:00 p.m. in Room 212 of the K-State Student Union. After a delicious meal, arranged by Social Director Sean Kalic, Commodore Ken Hays called the meeting to order and received reports from each member of the Board of Directors.

The highlight of Race Director Catherine Wisian's report was the presentation of Race Awards for the 2003 BVYC Race Season. Two traveling memorial trophies were awarded to Ken Conrow. The first trophy, the Scott Liebler Memorial Trophy, is in memory of Scott Liebler, deceased son of Al and Sony Liebler (long-time residents of Manhattan, now living in Oklahoma), and the second trophy is the Chapman, Shipley and Bennett Spring Series Trophy given in memory of the three KSU students who

Director nominees for the year 2004. The new Board of Directors for the Blue Valley Yacht Club consists of: Commodore Diane Barker, Vice Commodore Ken Hays, Rear Commodore Wayne Martin, Treasurer Tom Albright, Secretary Bart Bartholomew, Social Directors Bob and Jane Mullen, and Race Director Randy Zelenka.

lost their lives in a sailing accident on Tuttle Reservoir in December 2001. On hand to present the Chapman, Shipley and Bennett trophy was Nancy Chapman, mother of Kyle Chapman, from Olathe, Kansas. Other award recipients were: Summer Series - first to Marty Ottenheimer, second to Ken Conrow, and third to Harriet Ottenheimer; Fall Series - first to Randy Zelenka, second to Ken Conrow, third to Mike Lucas, and fourth to Franz Samelson.

Rear Commodore Wayne Martin presented the Board of
