I've recently relocated to Texas, and the movers were charging way too much to move my Hobie, so I am putting it up for sale.  It has two sets of sails, a trailer with a sail box, and other miscellaneous parts.  You can see it in the dinghy park (KA-615-PT).  I am willing

to let it go for cheap so I can buy another boat here.

By the way, any recommendations for or against at Cal 24 (1984)?  The owner has it up for sale for $3000.

Smooth sailing to you,

Ahoy sailors
By Diane Barker, Commodore

If you attended the Annual Pig Roast you undoubtedly noticed how ship shape the grounds looked. Our Fall Work Day held the morning before the Pig Roast was a great success.  Around 20 hardy sailors showed up for refreshments at 8:30 a.m. with work commencing at 9 a.m. Several sailors who couldn’t attend Saturday morning were spotted earlier in the week making significant contributions.

Mike Lucas and Maarten van Swaay cleaned up the trailer park on the hill by weed whacking around the trailers. Chris Ross had spruced up the Sea Scout section of the dinghy park. Randy Zelenka and Bart Bartholomew were spotted mowing up around the sheds and the pasture. Thanks to all. Your efforts did not go unnoticed.

The brave souls who tackled the grounds on Work Day were able to concentrate on a variety of jobs since so much of the mowing and weed whacking had already been done. The Blue Valley Yacht Club sign is now blue again. Sharon Ketelsen and I spent a lovely morning slapping two coats of paint on the sign while Steve Ketelsen put a new fuel filter in the generator. It now runs like a charm. A special thanks to the Ketelsens for showing Midwest Concrete where to dump the gravel for the new road. Yet another special thanks to Wayne Martin for bringing the front-end loader to spread that gravel for the road down to the dinghy beach. Gone are the days of stumbling down a week-choked hillside. We now have a wonderful road that will accommodate your trailers, tractors, cars, and dollies for launching dinghies. A lively crew sank two anchors and put the dinghy dock in place. Thanks to Ken Hays for overseeing the construction of the dock and to all who worked on it. We now have an improved staging area for windsurfers and dinghy sailors.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made it a fun Fall Work Day.
