Flag Ceremony
September 14, 2001

Approximately twenty Blue Valley Yacht Club members and friends gathered at the club grounds just before sunset on Friday evening, September 14, 2001 for a ceremony to honor the victims and rescue personnel involved with the tragic destruction in New York City and Washington, D.C.

A patrol of Sea Scouts lowered the United States flag and then the gathered persons sang two traditional patriotic songs.

Afterwards, several people gathered around a warm fire before returning home.  Others boarded sailboats for a quite, contemplative sail on Tuttle Reservoir.
